Rachel Abend, LPCA: Lexington
Rachel is a dedicated and compassionate therapist with over five years of experience supporting both children and adults through life’s challenges. She has worked with individuals from many different cultures and backgrounds, and she is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space for all clients, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.
Rachel earned her master’s degree in counseling from the University of Kentucky and believes in a holistic approach to therapy by helping clients feel empowered to take charge of their mental health while offering steady support along the way. She draws from a variety of approaches to best fit each client’s needs, including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and trauma-focused treatments. She is also certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an innovative method shown to be especially helpful for healing from PTSD.
Rachel specializes in working with people facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, and major life transitions. Her goal is to meet each client where they are and walk alongside them with warmth, empathy, and respect as they move toward growth and healing.
