I earned both my Undergraduate and Graduate education at The University of Kentucky. I completed training toward my LCSW license at a state Psychiatric Institution. I have three years of intensive training and a graduate certificate in Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy through The Wayne Institute and The Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute. I have a strong interest in working towards a deep connection with my clients and helping them gain a greater understanding of self. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, a modality that utilizes Rapid Eye Movements to treat trauma with very effective results. Mindfulness Practices, along with my own experience in therapy, have left me with a passion that I enjoy sharing with others.

I have been working in the mental health field for the past 17 years. My experience includes serving diverse populations including senior adults, dementia, caretakers, and those coping with end-of-life decisions. I have an extensive background in the areas of depression, anxiety, grief and loss. My approach is person-centered while offering a supportive therapeutic alliance. We all have situations that occur in our life that create stress and a need for extra support. I strive to offer that support in a nonjudgmental, empathetic environment. I draw upon many years of experience focusing on the client. My passion is helping clients reach their desired resolutions. I earned my master’s degree for Social Work at the University of Kentucky in 1995. I received my LCSW in 2011 while working in an inpatient state psychiatric hospital.

I have been in the field for 20 years in various roles. I worked in the family court system for more than 10 years, and after we moved to the US, I worked for a Supervised Visitation program for 6 years. Since then I have worked as a survivor advocate. I studied psychology and counseling in my home country, Turkey, and received my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Kentucky with a Clinical Social Work Certificate. I have firsthand immigration experience along with professional experience working with the immigrant population. I am bilingual, and my primary language is Turkish. I also have extensive experience working with families in the family court system and working with survivors of intimate partner violence. I use motivational interviewing, solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and schema therapy modalities. I look forward to empowering and supporting you on your journey toward well-being, resilience, and self-discovery.

Being a human in this world can be so difficult and confusing! I love to help people become a version of themselves they can feel good about.  If we are not clear on what our personal values and goals are, we can end up feeling lost with no direction. My training helps me to help people gain insight into the ways their past experiences have shaped their present. The process of changing and doing things differently often involves working through difficult feelings such as grief, shame, and regret; no one should have to deal with these feelings alone. The better we understand ourselves, the more empowered we are to take control of our lives and become our most authentic selves. I am here to provide a safe space and to create the conditions necessary for healing and lasting change. My approach is eclectic; psychodynamic & person-centered informed by feminist & existential theories. I frequently work with autistic folks, LGBTQIA+ folks, trauma/dissociative disorders, and identity/existential issues.

I enjoy implementing client-centered approaches that meet the client where they are while encouraging self-determination and actualization. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing while working collaboratively with my clients.

Ebony provides in-person therapy for school settings. Telehealth for children and adults outside of the school setting. She specializes in CBT, person-centered therapy, psychoanalysis therapy, behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy. “I am trained in different modalities and can support clients with multiple concerns such as anxiety, depression, early adulthood transitions, substance use, behavioral concerns, and self-esteem building. She is based out of our Lexington office. She is not accepting clients at this time as she is full.

Cate Pearson has been a licensed clinical social worker for 23 years. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky. She accepts most insurance plans and particularly enjoys working with adolescents and couples. She has specialized couples training in Gottman Level One and hopes to do Level Two training soon. She is also an approved supervisor for CSWs.

Her approach to treatment is collaborative and compassionate. Her clients set their treatment priorities and direction, while she helps guide them through the counseling process.

She has worked in a broad variety of clinical settings, including private and group practice, school-based, employee assistance program (EAP) work, mental hospitals and has been the clinical director for three nonprofit counseling agencies.

Areas of interest and specialty include adaptation to life stressors and changes, gifted students, interpersonal and relationship issues, wellness, and managing anxiety, depression, grief, OCD, and trauma symptoms.

Treatment techniques include brainspotting, a trauma shortcut technique, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), Gottman method couple interventions, mindfulness-based, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches.

Caroline has worked in the mental health field in various roles since 2017. She received her master’s degree in 2022 from the University of Kentucky with a certificate in Substance Abuse. Using an integrative and person-centered approach, her goal is to foster a safe space for people of all identities to help encourage self-discovery and personal growth. Caroline has experience working with couples and families, in addition to working with people facing addiction, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Melissa earned her bachelor’s degrees in psychology in 1997 and her master's degree in counseling in 1999, both from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. Having been a counselor for over 20 years, she has had the opportunity to help children, teens, and adults with a variety of challenges in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Melissa genuinely values the client/counselor relationship. Using a person-centered approach, she prefers to connect with clients and join them in whatever season of life they are in, explore obstacles they may they be facing, and focus on empowerment, and development of a greater understanding of self.
