Sara Zimmerman, LPCA: Lexington
I strive to create a warm, respectful, and empowering space where clients feel safe, supported, and understood as they work toward meaningful and lasting change. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands and have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I take a holistic, person-centered approach that honors the whole individual—mind, body, and spirit—while recognizing that you are the expert on your own life. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to explore anxiety, depression, life transitions, and behavioral concerns, and to develop goals that feel realistic and meaningful. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and ACT, always tailored to each client’s unique needs. When working with children, I incorporate play therapy, art, mindfulness, and skill-building techniques to help them express themselves, better understand their emotions, and build healthy coping skills. She provides in-person therapy available in Lexington, and in school settings in Fayette County, KY.
